Are you sure that spotted bass wasn't an alabama bass? It's been recently classified as another black bass species and spotted bass records are being changed because of it. There are alabama bass in them waters. Great fishing y'all.

Thanks for this. One tip. When you tie the old cable to the new one, wrap it in electrical tape. It'll fish easier and add strength.
